EIR SCCA Election for 2025 Officers
Nominations for 2025 EIR SCCA officer positions has closed and the election balloting is open until December 3, 2024 for EIR members to vote for their 2025 officers. There are two methods of voting, online and a paper ballot option.
The online voting option is free and done through MSR (MotorsportReg.com, same place you registered for autocross events this year). Your vote is completely anonymous on MSR. You must be an EIR SCCA member to vote. Members can vote electronically at MSR by clicking on this LINK. Voting will end at the start of the December club meeting.
If you would like to opt for a physical paper ballot, please get ahold of Christian by email at christianannis1997@gmail.com or by text 208-781-2362 with your name and mailing address. A paper ballot will be sent to you ASAP that will also have instructions on how you can submit that ballot.

Regional Executive

Christian Annis
Membership Director

Monthly EIR SCCA Meeting Minutes - Tuesday, November 5
The November monthly EIR meeting was held on Tuesday, November 5, at Tommy Vaughn's restaurant in Blackfoot. The following meeting notes were provided by Carl Tyger.
The meeting was successful with a quorum of members in attendance. SCCA region membership did decline by one from the previous month as someone did not renew. Current membership is at 116. Finances are stable with very little change from the previous month as we are in the off season and income and expenses don’t really happen right now.
Election nominations officially closed and the ballot that will be prepared will consist of:
Regional Executive
Carl Tyger
Andrew Carpenter
Assistant Regional Executive
Jake Ullery
Steven Bissey
Treasurer
Christian Annis
Membership Director
Jordan Redd
Discussion was had about how voting will take place. The bylaws state that ballots will be mailed to all members and voting is to take place by physical ballot. However, there is ability to simplify this and reduce cost by voting electronically through MSR. It was suggested that we set up the ability to vote through MSR and give members the option to request a mailed ballot. Physical ballots can be returned at the beginning of the December meeting to take place on December 3rd at 7:30 PM at Tommy Vaughn’s in Blackfoot. The members present voted in favor of allowing this change to the voting process to make it easier and cost less.
Discussion was had about the requirement to qualify for a trophy for the season. This year the standard was half of events rounded up. Meaning that in order to qualify we had a total of 21 events and to qualify half would be 10.5, but rounded up made 11 events in order to qualify. It was suggested that we change this to be half rounded down. Meaning that if we had 21 events again this coming year the bar to qualify would be 10 instead of 11. The members present voted in favor of this change. However, this is perhaps only one step in the formation of the plan for next season and further discussion and voting may be had prior to the start of the 2025 season.
The 2024 season year end party was also discussed. There were two possible options that were similar, but on different dates. Both came in around $30 per person in cost with one on January 18th and one on January 25th. The members present voted to have the party on January 18th and it will be at A-street soup market in Idaho Falls. Further details will be distributed as the plans continue

Monthly EIR SCCA Meeting Minutes - Tuesday, October 1
The October monthly EIR meeting was held on Tuesday, October 1, at Tommy Vaughn's restaurant in Blackfoot. The following meeting notes were provided by Carl Tyger.
Thank you to all those that attended the in person club meeting last week! It was fun!
We officially opened nominations for officers to run the club for next year (2025). The nomination period will run through the close of the November 5th meeting at 8:30 PM. To make a nomination, you can text me at 208-589-9615, or compose an email to easternidahoscca@gmail.com. In your nomination please state the club member you are nominating and what position they are nominated for. I will contact those that are nominated and let them know. Just because you are nominated does not mean you have to run. In the event someone is nominated and does not want to be they are welcome to decline.
The positions that will be elected are:
Regional Executive, Assistant Regional Executive, Treasurer, and Membership Director (secretary)
I'd love to see some great activity here and a great election take place where perhaps we have more than one choice for each position, so please get those nominations in.
Have a great day!

October EIR News Update from the RE
Good morning!
Looks like we are in full blown fall around here with the temperature falling and leaves changing. I'm writing to give you the latest on our club activities in the fresh off season.
Officer nominations are currently open for submission to this email. Carl (2024 ARE) sent out an email this past week outlining the positions that our bylaws define as officers. These four positions are all we are voting on instead of the larger board as was done for 2024. The reason for this is we have decided to operate under the strict definitions of our Bylaws. It will be up to these four elected positions to build committees, cabinets, or other advisory positions as needed. If you would like to run for a position or nominate someone for a position send an email to this address. Nominations will close at our November club meeting. Voting will start four days after that meeting.
Party planning is still ongoing and look for a request to vote on the location that we have worked hard to find. Per the bylaws this requires a simple majority vote from the members.
Oktoberfast in Utah at UMC is this coming weekend. I know it's late, it's chilly, and it's clear down in Tooele but, if you are up for representing EIR in Utah, come join us!
Rallycross was brought up and there is always a lot of interest in it. For the rest of 24 we will continue to discuss but no plans yet to get an event planned. There may be a chance of doing an exploratory event at some point in 25 to see how it works. This will be up to the new officers to pursue.
I would strongly, immensely, hugely, encourage everyone to become familiar with their MySCCA account and surf through all that it offers this offseason. Get your SSS license!
Till I see you at the November club meeting have a good October and happy Halloween!

August EIR News Update from the RE
Good morning everyone, I hope you're enjoying the fantastic weather we're having. The super packed summer has again pushed my update email from a monthly to a bimonthly.
Club Status
Having a full calendar of events sure helps with our clubs finances and we're looking pretty good compared to last year. Our membership has grown through the year and we're up to 118 members! I moved to a family membership to add my son which is very inexpensive to do. I'd like to give a huge shout out to the Smith family with 8 members!!! I think the bar has been set, let's see if anyone can top eight ;) . This winter we are going to look into handling sponsorships, charity events, and Street Survival events, all of which could be immensely helpful for our small region.
We closed out our last Rigby located event last weekend with one more to go at Pineridge Mall in Pocatello. I will be looking for volunteers to help setup and breakdown as this site requires quite a bit more work to be done (mainly the pylons aka candle sticks). There will be a raffle for cool prizes and lots of EIR swag given away for our last event of the year.
Here's the link: http://msreg.com/24EIR-10
Monthly Meetings
Per our bylaws the board of the club is to hold a member meeting once a month. As you know we haven't been on top of that so we're going to get on top of it. Look for a meeting invite for a virtual open meeting on August 27th and September 3rd coming out to your email today. As of October 1st, meetings will be the first Tuesday of each month at Tommy Vaughn's in Blackfoot from 6:30 to 8:30. First hour is social and food, the second hour is the meeting. All are welcome to attend!
Upcoming Events
Many of you are getting ready for Top Gun in Helena next weekend. I can't make it (nats is on my docket this year) and want to wish you all lots of fun and luck! Combined with the power of SRR you guys are going to keep that trophy in Idaho!
Nationals for the Champ Tour and Pro Solo are at the end of this month with a handful of drivers heading to represent EIR. Cal, Brian, Kameron, and myself. It's a full week of autcrossing in Lincoln NE and I'm very nervously excited for my first shot at it while the other three are calm veterans.
Cone Heads is coming up with all of us anxiously waiting for the MSR to open up. Easily 75% of the cones we have have been won at this event over the last three years. I think we're averaging 50+ cones per year, which is awesome and needed with our ability to hit and drag them haa. Ok, maybe a few of us are better at it than most.
Culture
As the year end approaches our focus is to return to the basics, operate by our bylaws, and build the culture into 2025. We on the board are striving to be inclusive and welcoming and getting your feedback on how we did this year is important. A survey will be coming out (MSR most likely) that will be anonymous for you to share your thoughts, feelings, and comments on how EIR is doing.
In closing I want to to give my sincerest gratitude to everyone of you and to those that aren't members (yet) for making this club what it is. We are car enthusiasts and together we make this sport a reality for many in our region.
Have a great rest of August and see you on the asphalt!
Sincerely,
Seth

June EIR Meeting Notes
A hot topic in our region lately has been sound control during our auto-x events. The region officers have been working on finding ways to be consistent with monitoring sound, while following the National SCCA rules and guidelines about it. We had a lengthy and deep conversation about it at the club meeting on 06/25/2024, and unanimously voted on, and agreed on the below rules. We appreciate everyone who came and gave feedback and input on the matter!

Message from the Regional Exec on 6/4/2024:
Good evening autocrossers!
It's been two months since I sent an update and I'm blaming it on the season kicking off. For some of our new members this is the first email update you've received and I'd like to say THANKS! Thanks for joining our small automotive enthusiast group. We can't have this club without you and if you want to get more involved all you have to do is show up and help! It'll likely lead to you running it someday!
The first two weekend auto-x events were in Pocatello and a HUGE success! Not without a ton of work to get those setup but I think everyone that was there thoroughly enjoyed it. Fingers crossed they don't tear down the mall before this fall and we can still have our season closer auto-x events there in September or October.
Our Memorial Day 3 day event was fantastic and man, I forgot what three days in the sun feels like! We had 50 drivers per day for all three days (almost 60 on Monday!!)
Bonneville Weekend 4 is this weekend and our attendance is a little light (less than 40 so far) so spread the word and tell your friends to join up. The Eastern Idaho Region membership is now at 119 members and that's already 20% growth from the end of last year (I think, maybe I'm exaggerating).
A little bit about Motorsport Reg (MSR). As most are aware, we moved to MSR registration only as SCCA stopped accepting paper weekend memberships. We still allow people to register the morning of, but, they have to do it through MSR. They could create their own account or have a friend register them through their account. Either way, this has significantly reduced the workload on us running the papers and as we don't get paid for this, I'll call it a raise.
Last note. SCCA retired the combination logo of text and wheel; thereby, implying that we needed to update our region's logo. As many on the board will attest I have spent many hours playing around designing a replacement. My goal was to maintain the spirit of the original while giving it a modern clean look; as well as turning the Teton mountains profile as we see it from the Idaho side. Please take a look at the proposed EIR logo below and reply with your comments as this isn't official just first pass at membership review.
See you at the autocross!
Sincerely,
Seth Feuerborn

Message from the Regional Exec on 2/13/2024:
Good evening EIR autocrossers!
Couple updates for February I'd like to share with you. Probably the most notable is adding at least 3 events to our schedule at Pine Ridge Mall in Pocatello! This is in large part to our club participation at the indoor car show last month. I met Tommy, the mall manager, and he was very excited about the show and continuing the automotive scene at the mall. Needless to say, we got it back! Weather permitting we will have our first event this year on April 27th in Pocatello and another two weeks later. Following these is our Memorial 3 day event at Rigby middle school.
This weekend is our first, in over 5 years, Rocky Mountain Division convention. It is virtual and it is free! Please take some time out of your weekend to attend and show support with our fellow RMDiv regions. Lets make sure our small region has more attendees than Utah!

Last item is letting you know about our February club meeting at the end of this month on Monday the 26th at 7 Eighty 5 in Blackfoot. We've learned that their kitchen is small so feel free to show up early and order before we start. In that meeting I will share what EIR leaderships main goal is this year. Last year it was club growth and we all knocked that out of the park. Here's to an awesome 2024!
Talk to you soon,
Seth Feuerborn
