Auto-x !      October 19-20, 2024 at UMC, Midway parking lot.

The last scheduled auto-x event for the EIR SCCA 2024 season has been completed. However, the Utah Region SCCA is holding their annual Oktoberfast aut0-x event at Utah Motorsports Campus, Midway parking lot, for a two day weekend event, October 19-20.

Online preregistration for this event will is open now on MotorsportReg.com.  Registration closes Friday, October 18 at 12:59 am. The direct link for online registration for this event is:  ...HERE!

Entry is limited to 135 drivers. Chris Cook of Utah Region has provided the following information:

As your Solo Director, I wanted to reach out to address some commentary about our upcoming Oktoberfast event.

Midway was selected for this event due to being significantly larger than West Paddock and has 7 acres of autocross space bringing the best available for the enjoyment and competition for our local attendees and out of state guests. This site allows overnight camping, and amenities not usually afforded at other venues to ensure post-race activities and socializing.

The Safeties and Course Design team work diligently to ensure that all courses are safe for spectators and competitors, and each course is approved by Safety committee and are set per the guidelines set forth by National SCCA Office. We always encourage our attendees to speak up if something appears unsafe.

Racing in all forms is inherent risk and we recommend insurance for protecting your investment of adrenaline seeking. (I use Lockton, and its about $100/$10k per year and even covers co-drivers.)

For those newer or unfamilar, other organizations are utilizing this site today with much success and previously we have run many successful events at this location. There are some cracks which are easily mitigated with course design.

This year we are keying up a special course designer who is known for their expert National Style courses to bring the best Utah has to offer.

In the spirit of merging fun and community stewardship this will be a charity event for the Utah Humane Society.

We are also working on Stickers, Trophies, Raffles and Spot Awards for Duplicate Times, etc. We are finalizing permissions for a BBQ on Saturday night. There will be more details to come as we near the date (including event supplements), but rest assured we are working to bring a fast, fun and safe event for all to enjoy.

As we are nearing the winter break and with only a few events remaining, we hope that you will attend.

We work for you and if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me directly at utahscca@outlook.com

Other important information for the EIR auto-x 2024 season:

EIR SCCA is only accepting online registrations for the auto-x events.

A valid drivers license or learners permit is required to drive in SCCA auto-x events.

All minors (age 12 to 17.999) are required to have a Minor Release form completed by parents or guardians. No minors under 12 allowed in the hot zones where vehicles are moving.

Novice class is available for those that have attended less than 3 auto-x weekends. Class will be set at NOVICE (NOV) to allow you to learn all about SCCA autocross without any pressure of competition from more experienced drivers. We want you to have fun and enjoy your initial auto-x event!

We have loaner helmets for you to use if you don't have an acceptable helmet of your own yet. There is a limited quantity of loaner helmets avaialable; Med (2), L (3), XL (2), XXL (1), and they will be shared so each run group has them available for use.

If you have it, please bring your own helmet with the proper SNELL or FIA or SFI certification. There is a link below for the online SCCA 2024 acceptable helmet certifications.

Self Tech sheets will be handed out to ensure your car meets SCCA auto-x event safety requirements. Compliance checks will be performed on each car for the following: All lug nuts in place, no dripping fluids, no loose items inside the car, battery fastened securely, tires in good condition (properly inflated and no cords showing), and helmet certification.

See you all soon!!

Rules..... Rules..... Rules..... where can you find the SCCA Solo (auto-x) rulebook ?    On the SCCA national office web site, of course! For the 2024 auto-x rulebook, go .....here.....

New year...... new helmet rules.....  EIR SCCA auto-x events must be compliant the SCCA National organization rules and regulations regarding event safety, vehicle safety, and driver safety.  Please check your helmet certification sticker and make sure its legal for use before you plan to use it at an auto-x event.  This applies to helmets used by both drivers and passengers.  The helmet certifications acceptable for use in SCCA auto-x events in 2024 are shown .....here.....
